Just wondered if anyone else has experienced a yellow tongue whilst taking methotrexate?

I spoke to the rhem nurse earlier and she said it can be a side effect.

I just find it strange as I'm taking mtx as an injection so its not even going near my tongue?

Please tell me I'm not the only one with a strange yellow tongue!! xx

Hi ccw, I am on mtx injections too. I haven't a yellow tongue.

I experience tiredness and not feeling well on the third day after Injection, do they take blood to controll your liverfunction?

Hi I'm on injections my tongue isn't yellow but it's very sensitive at the moment like it was burnt so god knows what it's doing to our insides

How odd! I've been on MTX nearly 8 years (tablets & injections) but never had a yellow tongue. Maybe try a mouthwash if you don't already, I use Corsodil, it's effective.

I know your Rheumy nurse said it can be a side effect but I've never come across it anywhere & intrigued I've read the PIL thinking maybe something I'd missed that but there's nothing listed for a yellow tongue.

I take it you're not yellow anywhere else & your liver function test is within range?

I use listerine,it all started the day or two after my new mtx dose. Getting my bloods done again today so hopefully all fine x

I remember now! You had trouble getting it accepted at your Surgery. Ok, well the blood result you get today won't show your reaction to the increase, that'll be in the bloods you have done today. Are you having them fortnightly just now?
