Mtx injections

Hiya all just a quick update on my mtx injections. They made me so ill I have had to come off them. I have been signed off work for 11 weeks now. Does anyone know what the next step is for me. I was also taking folic acid 6 times a week and I have had to stop them to as I was having so much pain with my bowels 😡

What happened with me is that is was given a different disease modifying drug to try fit three months and had a steroid injection to help me through that period. I think I got sulphasalasine first . Hope the next one has less problems for you xx

Yes, you'll likely be offered a different drug to try. Sadly there's no way to know which drug will suit you, so you just have to try them until you find the perfect combination for you. If you're not taking MTX anymore then you don't really need the folic acid.

Hey you chin up there a plenty of things they can try - I'm on the 5 th try of injections - as nothing seems to work - you just have to try and keep positive with Rhumny ,s help and pred; gentle hugs x

Sorry you've had such a rubbish time on MTX but not to worry there are other DMARDs you can try, your Rheumy or nurse will discuss which is thought could be suitable options. Now you've stopped MTX you no longer need the folic acid so that's one problem solved!
