Hi montydog,

Have you been to see your GP about the chest infection? He can give you antibiotics and perhaps a short course of steroids if you are having breathing difficulties. When you have any type of arthritis, especially if you are taking biologics or dmards to treat it, I feel you should get everything checked out by your GP, who knows what drugs you are taking and can prescribe accordingly. Hope this helps.

Hi montydog,

you do not say if you are on any medication at all to treat your palindromic rheumatism. As poemsgalore says, if you are worried then you should get in contact with your GP. Some medication needs to be stopped if you get a severe infection so if you are taking something then it would be a good idea to speak to your GP or phone your rheumatology helpline just to check.

Hope you feel better soon,

Regards,

Beverley (NRAS Helpline)
