Hey. apply for your own badge too, you get a form from the council who will be able to see your problems and will help. If you go to Citizens Advice Bureau they can help you with forms etc.

have you seen a doctor yet about your walking?

Hello

Try getting your own badge, it is a £200 fine or more if you get caught, because of all the problems, disabled people are loosing their cards. One problem is people using other peoples cards and rights to have one are being taken away when daughters etc use them

Go to your Council Offices and they will tell you where to get the form, you will need to get your GP to sign it and your Specialist will also need to leave his mark possibly an OT will need to put the scrawl on as well. They have really tightened up with the cards use. Your Mother could loose Her card as traffic wardens are stopping disabled drivers now.

Good Luck

Agree with Bob. Don't use anyone elses blue badge as you will both get into trouble, and your mum could lose hers. If you are a bit nervous about applying, then go see the disability advisor at CAB and get them to help you with the form. They know these forms inside out, and can make sure that everything is written down in the best possible words to give you the best chance of actually getting it. They can also do a benefit check for you and tell you if you should be getting any other benefits or concessions (that might be available in your area to people with disabilities). I was really pleased with the help I got and ended up being told about things I hadn't even thought I would be eligible for.

Agree with all the above. The person who is disabled has to be travelling in the car. OK they can be left in the car whilst you do the shopping. But beware, they targeted Morrison's car park not to long ago and caught 15 people who were not disabled and using someone else's card.

just phone your council for a form and get your doctor to sign it.

I am on the higher rate for mobility and had a very hard time getting my blue badge, but my doc and consultannt supported me and the BB people could see my case was genuine. I was told my area (Kirklees) had been very tough on applicants due to a lot of fraud. Sounds like you need your own bagde and the other folks are right .. not worth rsking it for getting caught out, even though you are genuine and need one. Allanah is right .. the local Council/ town hall will help and then you usually go for an appointment with the local office who issue the badges, where they check you are applicable and take your photo etc for the badge. Mine was done there and then. They last for three years then you renew.
