I have knee pain - very bad at present - and can really sympathise. It could be OA as well as RA, have you had that looked at? They seem to emphasise how important it is to have fit muscles around your knees whatever happens. You sound as though you must be quite fit so, if you do give up work or reduce your hours, you might consider doing more to help yourself with that. Hard isn't it...

Hello

Would a pain clinic assist with your pain? Also I see you are a part time carer, could you discuss all with an Occupational Therapist, they may life more comfortable on those heavy days

Thanks guys for your replies, I have had several steroid injections and they do help a lot. The last time I went in for one my consultant said he did not think I was taking my medication. I felt really insulted by this as I do take it as recommended and now just feel like a pest as he had already said to me before when medication has not worked that he could not understand why it does not work. I am no doctor and cant explain why things don't work but he makes me feel silly. xx

Hello

Have words with your GP, or Ask to see a physio. and it will , if required a Pain Clinic may be useful they can instigate other services
