hi charhunt,

i have been on azathioprine for 1.5 years as treatment for my auto-immune skin disorder (pemphigus). it takes on average 3 months to work and so far no side effect of any kind. to my knowledge, the medicine is also prescribed for lupus but i don't know whether or not it's used for RA. several GPs mentioned to me that it is a fairly safe DMARD with hardly any significant side effect (as long as you avoid direct exposure to the sun).
