Hi i have it in my right shoulder along with impingemet syndrome. After many injections that haven't helped i have been offered the opperation but they have said can't guarentee it will work & it could make it worse. The only thing i can say as helped with the dicomfort & pain is Gabapentin i went from 3 a day to 6 but i can honestly say it really does help. Good luck i know how you feel xx Alison

I have it in my left shoulder as well. Doesn't seem to be going away. Try to keep the muscles around it strong thru exercise, but do not do any exercise that makes it feel worse. If it hurts, don't do it. That was a mistake I was doing for a while, thinking if I could work thru the pain, it would get better.

Sorry can t offer any advice but I can sympathise greatly. I have had three steroid injection over the last year in my left shoulder, each time improving my pain greatly. I am not sure what they will offer next. Never had a scan on my shoulder and even though pain leaves with a steroid I still do not have full movement back. Really interested to hear how you get on so I can maybe suggest the same to my rheumy. Hope you get some relief soon xx

Not sure if you had the steroid injection right inside the joint, or into the tendon. If it was the tendon, and you have now been diagnosed with tendonitis, then please don't let them do any more injections into it until you have asked some very strong questions about the outcomes - there have been a lot of studies recently that show that steroids injected into tendons can contribute to the tendon getting very brittle and nasty tendon ruptures, so they aren't recommended any more, though there are other solutions that can be injected for relief. Steroid injections are fine if its into the synovial space of the joint though.
