hey Lyn, this is a very sad question. I think you need to talk to the experts. Your social worker and health visitor, your GP and victim support should still be able to help you sort out your housing problem.

I know there are long lists and its frustrating so keep ploughing away at them. Good luck and have a talk to your GP to see if they can help you with how you are feeling at the moment.

You were brave to leave and the childrens lifes will be better for your brave decision. Can the refuge people help you at all?

hope you get some good news soon xx

Hi there, I was in a life or death situation a few years ago and desperately needed to be re-housed. After numerous phone calls I went to my local council housing office. I walked in and told them that I was not going to leave their office until they sorted me out with alternate housing. I spoke with the Housing Officer and pointed out that there were quite a few empty council properties and that I would accept one of those. By the end of the day I had viewed a property, said yes and 1 week later we moved in. Stand by your guns, don't take no for answer, keep cool and calm and don't lose your temper and if you can do something similar who knows it might work for you as well. Do not give up, be persistent, hassle them, make sure that they know your name, your phone number and keep on at them, eventually you'll make a break through. I wish you all the very best and I hope you get what you want soon.

My heart goes out to you. I think the other two comments before mine both give good advice. I wish you all the best and please let us know how you go on.

I don't know what steps you have taken to get re housed but have you been to the the local social housing providers? Ie. housing associations and explained your situation? Or the CAB who can help with advice on steps you can take to get housing.
