I've been taking Hydroxychloroquine for three weeks with no adverse effects. Nothing else has changed. Do you think that it is the Hydroxychloroquine? I really hope it isn't. Clemmie.

Today my skin started crawling. Could it be Hydroxychloroquine?
More likely to be your RA I would say - inflammation can set off some strange symptoms such as skin crawling - that's what I found anyway. Tilda x
Thanks TildaT, I just hope that it settles down quickly because its driving me mad!
There are lots of strange things that crop up and drive us mad Barrister - it is the nature of the RA beast. Maybe Hydroxichloraquine is not enough for you or hasn't had a chance to work - I was told it takes a few months at least. Tilda x
I have skin crawls but put it down to the menopause not hydroxy. I get them on my back. Never thought of it being meds.

I too get skin crawls all over, on and off - even in some very 'sensitive' places!! I started with them a few weeks after starting the meds, five years after the menopause. xx
Thanks for all your replies. I have to admit that I have had the skin crawling for quite a few years and take regular antihistamines for it, but it is particularly bad at the moment and I am on edge waiting for any side effects of the Hydroxy. Usually I get all the rotten side effects pretty quickly with any new medication that I take so I am just waiting for it all to happen. Silly really but that's me! I didn't take the Hydroxy last night or this morning to see if it made a difference but as it probably hasn't then I will restart later. Thanks again, Clemmie
