Hi everyone,
If you have endometriosis and also have a lot of digestive issues both during or outside your periods, then this has to be looked into and resolved, because I don't think painkillers or birth control can solve this issue.
Many of us have what is famously called the 'endo belly' and it is important to figure out the cause.
Apart from leaky gut, there is something called Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth. Our body is made up of millions of bacteria mostly in our large intestine and colon. When there becomes an overgrowth of bacteria in our small intestine, then it becomes an issue causing bloating, constipation, abdominal pains etc. When we eat starchy foods, sugar or alcohol, these feed the bacteria which results in production of hydrogen. This hydrogen in turn feeds single-celled organisms in our intestine called 'archaea' which in turn produce methane. These gases cause all the digestive symptoms mentioned above.
If you have digestive issues, ask your doctor for a Hydrogen breath test as this could help to determine if you have SIBO and you can begin to figure out how to solve it.
Also, ways to fight SIBO include starving the bacteria of carbohydrates and instead eating lots of vegetables, lean protein, healthy fats.
Also, fight the bacteria by adding good healthy probiotics into your diet.
Peace and Love xx
