So Day 25....when I was young my nickname was cement mixer because I constantly ate....started smoking when I was 19...stopped eating so much lost a lot of weight.....52 years old stopped smoking again and now within 3 weeks can't fit in trousers and have awful acid reflux which I never had before...can't sleep and am still so grumpy. Thought about when I last gave up and to be honest it wasn't this hard and I didn't feel so crap though I had been smoking for as long..I've got some nice things to look forward to, but this is a lot harder than I thought it would be....HELP!!!!!
Day 25 - Can't get in my trousers..... - No Smoking Day
Day 25 - Can't get in my trousers.....
Hi Dula! Day 25!? You are so so lucky to be that far along. amazing success, well done!
Have you taken anything to relieve the acid reflux? That could be a part of your metabolism slowing down. I struggled with my sleeping pattern when I last quit (relapsed, but new start date coming up). As cliche as it sounds, I actually found that hypnosis clips helped a lot! I would listen to 'quit smoking' hypnosis and if I'm honest, I'd get through the part where they relax you and would drop off pretty much straight away. What are the nice things to look forward to? Keep them firmly in your mind, knowing that they are your reward for being a stink free, healthy non-smoker! And know I look to you as the stinky, unhealthy, fag breath that I am and hope I can get to 25 days and beyond just like you!

Hey Dulavinsky, Whoohoo! DAY 25, HUGE WELL DONE TO YOU!!
Acid reflux is a common symptom when quitting - apple cider vinegar is suppose to be good for immediate relief (bananas and apples too). Keep a track of what food you eat when it occurs and avoid going forward.
From the new year I bought the following water juicer bottle (can get in any supermarket) and started drinking water with half a lemon, 4 leaves of mint and 2 slices of cucumber - hooked on it now and tastes really refreshing and a good way to drink water as you can top up with water throughout the day at work (ice cold water is my preference) and really helps with stopping snacking. Keep up the great work!

In What supermarket did you get the bottle Rowens? Is there like a compartment for the lemon and leaves or do they just Bob about in the water? Fancy getting one but can't deal with bits floating around in my mouth haha!
The coloured section of the bottle is a separate compartment that juices whatever you put in to it. I am living in Ireland and bought mine in Dunnes Stores, believe they are in Supervalu too....great product, even some of the lads at work are using them!
Congratulations for being on day 25! Be proud...getting there is amazing. For me 80% of my quit was getting through these 25 days...after that things got easier. As for the weight, I got ten kilos in two months. That is aproximately 20 pounds in only two months...still strugle with the weight, have shed five of them but man it totally worths it. At first I was wondering if the whole thing is for the better since I was feeling horribly. Sick and depressed. But I can assure you now that it was the best thing I have done in my whole life! I thought that I will always be hungry and miserable but my appetite subsided in two months (to be sincere) and after that it was normal again. Good luck!
