Day 7- hard. Hello everyone!: Hiello... - No Smoking Day
Day 7- hard. Hello everyone!
Hi Nina Glad you found your way to us - it really helps having fellow strugglers to talk to, so I hope we can make your fight a little brighter
You've done really well to get to day 7 - you must be so proud of yourself! Are you going cold turkey or are you using an aid like patches or anything?
My biggest piece of advice would be to celebrate your achievements - there were times early on when I would pat myself on the back every ten minutes! And reward yourself - my reward was books, tons and tons of books!
Good luck xx
Hi, and hello to you my lovely, great bunch here, so we wiil all welcome you with open arms.
A huge well done on 7days, that's fantastic. A treat in order I think, eating a lot can be for some a side effect of quitting, but hey think about that later.
You body will thank you over and over, for quitting that nasty evil weed.
Please post and read often, indeed it can be the difference between failure or success .
I will keep every thing crossed this is the quit that counts.
Just keep going, that's all you can do it, you can
Thank you for the lovely and supportive welcome...;) To Incy..as you asked me...I am using nicorette quickmint ( spray) ..which I found amaizingly helpful..I have been using it 3 times a day...( equivalent of 3 cig) ...since I started...which I believe is pretty good as I used to smoke 15/18 roll up cigs...but today...hmmmm. ...dunno. Very difficult...so atm I am enjoying some cancer awakening videos...tbh...it helped a lot.
Thank you!!!! Well done to both of you tho!!! 😀😀
~Hey sounds like we had the same kind of addiction - I think that's about how much I was smoking (though I never ever counted!)
I've never heard of the spray, glad it's helping you though
There are days that are harder, and then other days will come soon where you hardly think about it at all - keep fighting through! Reading/watching, generally educating yourself is something lots of us here did in our early days, I found it really useful.
xx
Welcome Nina!! Great job for hanging in there , week one is a beast!! I know because I was there just a few weeks ago myself. My experience was that just as the week was winding down the monster inside began to panic, and got quite testie, started throwing a tantrum trying hard to make me cave in. Don't let it win - stay strong and I promise it gets easier from here
Hi and welcome. You have done so well getting through that difficult first week. Please keep strong take it day by day, drink lots of water and use distractions to help you through those craves. They will ease I promise
hello Nina, and congratulations on your 7 days. Great going. Come on here every day, breathe deep, including an imaginary cigarette without all the rubbish, only fresh air. Say NOPE repeatedly to yourself, not out loud as it might lead to more stresses. You can do this.
Welcome Nina
Glad you found your way here, as tracey said post, post and post again if it helps, no one minds, we are all trying to achieve the same thing here, I found reading, reading and more reading while I had the craves really helped, you will find what works for you as the days of being a non smoker go by.
Hello Nina
Welcome to the forum. Posting here daily will really help you. 7 days is amazing. Though there are tests along the way nothing is ever as hard as week one and you've done that 🎉. Celebrate, treat yourself often. The boost to self esteem when you get past the first week or two is amazing. Congratulations x
Well done on completing week 1, today is my 7th day I'm battling a hangover so it will be a struggle not to smoke!
Welcome Stu and Nina Doing so well, that first week can be a killer, but thank goodness you are now in the arms of the forum. Just keep going, what ever it takes
Well done .....Be proud and stay strong
