It's totally beatable :) It's not easy, but it's a battle you CAN win - here's hoping you can keep busy and positive through day 2, and 3, and 4 etc etc!

Eat the world - just don't smoke the fags!

Hi Shelly – Good for you making it through day 1. I'm just beginning to believe this thing is beatable myself. After about a gazillion and one false starts, I'm proud to say I'm now on day 5. I won't say it has been easy, but it has been doable!! I'm so jazzed that I'm this far along. In the past I always got stuck on day 2 or 3 and thought I was doomed to smoke for ever. But from the support of this site, I know that's no longer true. So stay strong and just believe in yourself - eat the world, scream in your pillow, cry a river and kick the cat if you have too, do anything except smoke and you'll get through day 2 as well.

You can beat it Shelly - champix for me is great as it has given me no choice (which is the boost I needed) but to stop as there is really no point in smoking when you are on the higher dose. I also found that being able to smoke whilst on it took a lot of the pressure away... not to say I didn't have withdrawal because I did but I had no choice but to ride it through.... so I did... :)

I know it's so hard.... BUT YOU CAN DO IT!

Good for you, Shelly. A day at a time. It is a challenge. The majority of us would be fooling ourselves if we say it isn't. But, I guess it is slowly over time replacing the self-discouraging thoughts with positives ones, that's the way forward.

Hi Shelly xxxx I agree with Celestine perhaps some medication would be helpful.

Really admire your commitment to quitting though xx

It's no surprise that many people can't go a day. I do want to congratulate you on not smoking for an entire day.
