Hello and welcome. I think most of us have had several attempts at quitting I know I have. If you failed before cold turkey why not try some form of NRT to help you through the first difficult weeks. Read as much as you can, Allen Carrs book was a great help to me. Read old posts on here see how others manage their cravings above all never give up giving up.

Hi great your with us, indeed it's a strong addiction, that can be broken as above read post, use something to assist your quit, just might help.

Keep focused you can quit you really can,

Please keep us updated

All I can say is that I am yet to know 1 full-time smoker that has managed to stop on their first quit!....Everytime you quit, you learn something new about you and your behaviour and you are not smoking.... It doesn't matter how many times you try and fail, you are not failing really, not on my eyes.

When babies start walking, they try again & again, they fall, hurt their knees, get up again & fall again...it's part of the process.

A Loser is ONE that didn't try, not the One that tried but didn't make it to the end.

Very best of luck, stay close to the forum. I found it very helpfull, I remember one day in particular that I really wanted a smoke and the folks in here put me off it.

All the best with your quit. It does feel too, too hard. I can vouch for that. But look at the people who do go through and permanently quit. One of the reasons I like the forum. There is still contact from people just ahead or way ahead in their quit to inspire us. And NOPE is working for me. Quick and easy. Instead of impulsively reaching for cigarettes, I say NOPE to myself...............frequently at the moment!

Doesn't matter if it's the second or third time, the charm is there for the taking. I guess I can't say what is "too hard" for someone else, but I'm sure almost all ex-smokers have felt that way during the early days. Come to terms with the fact that it's a marathon that can't be won in the first few miles, days, or months. When you've accepted that, the worst of it will be over fairly quickly in the grand scheme and you'll be getting on with your life quicker than you thought possible.

Well done! As others have said, there's no failing in this, there is giving it another try :) I am on my second try with champix.... as already said, try using an aid. My hubbie quit first time with NRT - this time he will be trying with champix and 0% nicotine ecigs (ecigs to break the habit). Both been smoking for over 35 years and at least 20 a day.

Yes, it is very, very, very hard - if it wasn't we wouldn't have started smoking again. I am just over 2 weeks smoke and NOPE (Not One Puff Ever) and still finding it very hard but breathing and feeling a lot better for it. Concentrate on the positives and some deep breathing.... you CAN do this!

You're doing great and well done again for trying again :)
