So pleased all is going well, as we all know this is not easy, but you sure are determined.

TT, you're definitely leading the race to the Penthouse :)

You say you've fallen into month 3, just make sure you don't fall off the bike :)

I have a feeling that the 9th December 2015 is going to see a party as a new person enters the Penthouse :)

Good to hear :)

The one thing I really learned was that I am an addict.

I can't have 1 ever, because it will lead to 000's!

Stick to NOPE and success is yours :)

I agree with you Capitan, in that I'm without a doubt an addict with an additive personality, anything I like, I tend to kill to death, no moderation.....

Yeh, me too TT. I've said it before on here, I'm all or nothing.

Finished the Champix course on Saturday. Not sure if thats the reason but cravings are at an all time high today. And not able to shake off in the normal fashion.

nsd_user663_2681 profile image

How long have you been on the champix? It's just the psychological addiction now which IMO is the worst part, hang in there I'm sure an ex champix user will be along shortly, you are doing fantastically well

Thanks. I was on the champix for the full 12 weeks but cut down 1 tablet a day for the last 2 weeks. Not even sure these cravings are coz I stopped the champix. But have to say I'm worried right now.....

Don't be worried, you've got this in the bag, having a smoke will not help you in any shape or form, I have fallen for the just one several times and each time I am so sooo disappointed in myself and you would be too, instead try and feel proud of what u have achieved, treat yourself with the money you have saved 12 weeks is a massive achievement it really is and you will kick yourself if you give in now, my advice is get an early night if it's really bad, at least when u are asleep you can't crave, good luck and I hope tomorrow is kinder to you xx

Thanks Donna. The problem is I know all this, but can't seem to shake it as easily as I have before now. What a pain in the a r s e this is!

Don't ever doubt your decision TT. Just keep your head down over the next few days and its bound to pass.

I still think about it a lot, when I'm bored, fed up, stressed etc but I do feel something has switched in my head, because I know a fag will not fix any of these things other than get me on the hook again.

Best wishes and may the force be with you !

You are absolutely right it is soooo difficult if it wasn't we would all quit first time, get yourself to bed before you talk yourself

Into something xxxx

Thanks guys. Donna, in bed now, so as good as can be. Andrew, will be keeping head down and just getting on with it until I get back to norm. Karri, you're right, must just mean I gotta start counting again! Going to watch an episode of something in bed and wake up for the last few hours of DAY 78 tomorrow!!!!!!!!

nsd_user663_63128 profile image
nsd_user663_63128

Sleep well TT. Start counting down 22 days because that's when you join the 100 day club :)

Thanks Karri, will be doing just that.

Don't you dare fall off that bike TT, you'll graze your knees and elbows! :p

Remember NOPE and stick to it no matter what.

The craves will fade over the next couple of weeks or so and will become easier to brush aside. In the meantime, put your helmet on, dig down into your trench and just battle it out. All the little victories you achieve over the next few weeks will help you win the war in the long run.

I can see it now, Nicodemon waving the white flag of surrender on 9th December 2015 :)

Great to hear TT :)

You're coming up to the brow of a hill, you'll soon be over the top and it'll be all downhill from there, all the way to the finish line.

It's worth the struggle, believe me :)

Thanks again guys. Yesterday and the day before were quite worrying indeed.

I was on one (instead of two) Champix tablet per day over the last couple of weeks so had plenty left over when I stopped on Saturday which was my scheduled stop date. And my NHS lady said I could carry on with all the left overs for another two weeks if I wanted to. So yesterday, I popped one of those left over tablets in the afternoon and by evening was feeling a slightly better again. And today, was almost the same as the olden days where the odd crave crops up but its quashed almost instantly.

The question I now have is, am I really that reliant on the drug keeping my cravings at bay or is this all b l o o d y psychological? Coz the science says that my dependence on nicotine is out of my system in four weeks from my quit date right? I've done over eleven weeks off the buggers, so what the hell?!?!?

That's me done blowing off steam for now - sorry boys and girls - back to being on guard (has been an exhausting couple of days).

nsd_user663_42220 profile image
nsd_user663_42220

It is mainly psychological now TT, you need to start training your mind that you're not giving up anything, you're choosing to do something new.

Time helps and it's not unusual for people to have really strong craves months into their quits, so don't feel despondent.

Keep to NOPE and as you get further and further into your quit those craves will get weaker and weaker and eventually disappear altogether.

It's a leap of faith to believe that, but you do believe don't you TT? Why shouldn't you - it's true! :)
