Day 19

In a few hours I will have completed 19 beautiful days smoke free :D The gas does seem to be improving - but crikey I feel soooo sleepy and tired all the time. Need a nap after my nap  I have stopped coffee and alcohol since quitting the dreaded sticks and struggle to stay awake at work by 3 in the afternoon!

It's nearly 7 pm here and already I feel like having a wee lie down.....

Hay, firstly doing a amazing thing re quitting. And doing it with great style, no stopping you:):):)

It's just such a horrid side affect for some , quitting being lethargic, but it will pass soon, I promis , it's just so terrible when it's happening to you, it will pass so just keep going and of course when this tiredness does pass you will feel oh so much better, again I promis.

Nearly 3 weeks so very well done

Thank you ladies!

I am feeling quite proud myself. However I don't think I would be here if it wasn't for the forum - not only the wonderful support - but the fact that it is given so generously :)

Gave up fighting the yawns and am already in bed. The cravings still hit but they are less often and are starting to lack the strength of the early days.

It really is a terrific voyage of discovery - noticing all the good changes about yourself post quit - it is soooo worth it.

I think Helene is right, Wabbit- your body goes into shutdown mode for a time in order to heal.

You're doing SO well! I am enjoying hearing about your journey to freedom. :)

Hi and well done getting to day 19. Tiredness does seem to be a common thing, I found early nights and reading in bed helped me not to think about smoking early on too. :)

Good evening everybody,

Glad to hear the tiredness is so common - I did think about it last night - well, actually thought about how much stimulation cigarettes, coffee and alcohol must have provided in my life - and it is probably to be expected that it will take some time for my body to re-calibrate - I will just go with the flow.....

I am trying to do my bit by eating lots of fresh vegetables, lean meat, juice, lots of water. Food is tasting great and it is the least I can do after treating my body like a junkyard for so many years

I can see new nail growth now that is pinky - not yellow, teeth and eyes looking whiter, my face looks 'plumped out' and hydrated with no red areas. Deeper wrinkles look shallow and the shallow ones have disappeared :D I am smiling a lot more and don't pull a face when I walk past the mirror.

Took my dog out for our usual sniff around the 'hood - and had this overwhelming compulsion to skip! which I did! Haven't done that in 40 years! Anyone watching would have thought I was ready for the rubber room - but I am feeling so FREE!

Day 20 nearly done. Looking forward to my 3 week post :D

That's brilliant Wabbit! You skip away and if the urge to turn a few cartwheels comes upon you, you go for it girl. :)
