It's a new day (Day 4 to be precise!); it's a new dawn.....

YAY. GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!

Stunned, bewildered and (almost) speechless here. I have woken up to DAY FOUR of not sticking a white tube-like object full of tobacco into my gob, and I FEEL GOOD!

OK, euphoria is just as dangerous in the 'addict' game as depression BUT I'm celebrating while I can. You guys gave me such encouraging words for having survived being around smokers last night, on Day 3, and I couldn't have got through that hurdle without your support, so thank you so much.

I know what I have to watch for - when I get stressed I AUTOMATICALLY think: fag = answer to everything (hurrumph!). I know it's not true in my head but my body still craves that habit. It's stressful at work at the moment so I just have to keep remembering what you've said - one day at a time; or one half-hour at a time, etc. I also have to remember that you guys have days, weeks, months, even years under your belt and as I said before, I want to join your ranks!

Well, deep breath (oh yes, I can breath without making a wheezing noise!), and into the day.......

Well done Badge :)

Just dig in deep and hold on. You'll have moments but in my experience it'll get gradually easier from here onwards.

Nearly at the end of your first week!!

;)What a brilliant attitude :D Being positive is really half the battle, that and determination. You just wait until you start noticing the benefits of not smoking, I see you're already breathing a little easier and I'll bet your sense of smell and taste have improved too. Bit by bit you will realise this is the best thing you could ever do for your health and wealth  I always say embrace the good bits and learn from the bad bits but most of all, enjoy the process of becoming a non-smoker :)

Grinning from ear to ear

Hi Guys

I feel like this amazing, positive crowd is just cheering me on.

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for all your comments. (Love the OMG Cat, being a bit of a 'cat-woman' myself, and the 'one and only human body' is really profound - not really seen it like that (der!)).

I didn't think about a fag all afternoon - get in! And yes, improvement in taste and smell is something I'll 'look' out for....

And a reminder about all the dosh I'll be saving is very timely....such incentives!

What an amazing crowd you are.

I salute you!

PS: Badgepup comes from my friend's dog's name called 'Badger' and I knew him when he was a pup - silly, but then I am!
