I will repeat what I always say about how lovely it is when graduates return to tell us about life beyond the Penthouse.

What a wonderful achievement and how inspiring! :)

Thanks for your post, just shows quitting can be done. Nice of you to drop by.

Many congratulations

thank you all for the uplifting comments yes i was a very heavy chain smoker and was a long road but a very rewarding one i have learned that it takes about 18 months before people such as doctors just stop asking how many i smoke per day - i assume it takes that long to be rid of the smokers wafting smell of tobacco following us the way i see it is i figure in 25 years i smoked about half a million ciggies and therefore i must not smoke half a million to even out the scales to balance it out so im 10% there and over here here now some cigarettes cost a fortune some are like $180 yes 180.00 per carton of 200 cigarettes thats $45.00 a pack i probrably smoked a house away in my time so what have i done with my new found freedom from the nicodemon you guessed it i bought a house and that was a driving force and will always be as if i can afford ciggies then i cant afford a house so i choose the house and i choose freedom i am now truely free from the demon it takes time all u early in ur quit but trust me it does get easier i always heard about people who had cravings ten years after they quit but what they dont tell u is its not the same as a smokers craving and only lasts an instant and then gome and as we have learned to identify and deal with cravings they are nothing more than distant memories from the brain having a brain fart and thinking about days gone by thats where the balance comes in we train our brains to smoke then we just have to untrain it and it does happen and freedom is possible well enough mumbling for now good luck all and keep on the quit pathway

cheers
