Hi there,
It's been 93 hours since my last cig., and this is the toughest part of my cold turkey quit so far.
Not sure why, maybe it's that the nicotine is finally nearly out of my body, but OMG it's tough!!!
Will push on through I hope!

Hi Jon
You've done 93 hours, I'm sure you can do another 5 mins till this craving passes.
How about going and brushing your teeth, washing the dishes or changing your environment? (even walking to another room you don't associate with smoking might help?)
Stay strong, you are doing fabulously well especially going cold turkey!
xx
Jon, I do admire anyone who manages to quit CT so much. I think it is an incredibly brave and determined person who can do that and clearly you're one of them.
Hold on, mate, because I for one am certain you can get through this.
thanks all.. Frozen grapes have been my saviour on this occasion!
I've quit many times before, but always used patches/gum/spray, which to be honest, is easy and isn't quitting, it's just getting nicotine from other ways.
I'm feeling my whole body start to mend, and loving it.
Glad CT is working for you Jon, well done, perhaps I'll go and buy 10 fags if using patches is cheating :p:p
Ha ha ha Donna,
I felt a bit agrieved about the patches comment but each to their own and everyones thoughts, feelings and opinions are welcome here!!!
Sorry if I offended anyone, that wasn't the intention.
Using any type of NRT is a massive step in the right direction, but I've always found (at least 10 times) that I can't gradually reduce the size of the patch, and invariably took the patch off and had a fag, 'cos the nicotine is still in my body.
Everyone is different for sure, just speaking from personal experience - using a patch is easy compared to cold turkey - with patches, you still have nicotine, all you are doing is getting replacing the continuous highs and lows, with a constant stream of nicotine so you don't notice it.
I've honestly tried to quit at least 20 times using different methods, and always knew that going cold turkey was for me, the only way to really nail it.
first day in the office since cold turkey and on the one hand it's really tough, BUT walking pat smokers in the street genuinely makes me retch!!
am learning to embrace the cravings.
this forum is helping lots!
thanks everyone!
day 5 done, long client lunch with booze and it was easier than I thought!!
