Having struggled through 5 weeks of not smoking I now find myself itching to fill the time in that I used to waste smoking. Obviously I don't want to fill it with something useful like housework :D....how boring is that. So I decided that at the age of 52 I would start running! I say running, more moving quickly with two very excited dogs who think we are being chased .
So today, in torrential rain, I ventured out at 8.30am (don't want to be seen by anyone) and completed my second run accompanied by a very useful App on my phone. Apparently if I listen carefully to the lady telling me when to run and when to walk, I will be running 5K in 8 weeks......we'll see

I was told about it by a friend of mine who did it some time ago. Have to say, I was a little daunted by the title but its really manageable.....so far.
I didn't think my knees and ankles would be too happy about running, but in fact they were fine it was the abundance of other muscles who objected :D!
