Day 10 and everything is going fine, I don't feel like smoking. But I do have the feeling of something missing, when does this go away?

Day 10 - Something missing
Hi Matthew, each one of us is different but in my experience I found that at first I missed smoking terribly as I suddenly had almost two hours a day to fill. I found that filling the void really helped, also, as TG said, the more your brain disassociates leisure time with smoking the less you'll miss them. Distraction I think is the key, you need to fill in that time, try crosswords, candy crush, the joke thread on here is great!!! even jogging on the spot for 30 seconds can help take your mind off it
It does pass in time Matt. As has been said, try to find something to keep yourself busy. I found it helped to make a list in my head of jobs I'd been intending to do for ages but had put off or not got around to, and tackling one of them whenever I had that 'lost' feeling. Exercise of any sort is good too (as your brain produces the same feel-good chemicals as used to be associated with nicotine).
You're doing really well though.
I'm 5 weeks in and feel that "missing" something feeling is gone but I still get craves every now and again. It's just readjusting your routine. At first I still went outside every few hours even though I didn't have a cigarette just to help me ease into my new regime.
Hi, just wanted to stop by and say well done doing great so far.
I still have the missing feeling, however to is subsiding,
Keep going your doing great
