.............For 3 answers if u are struggling said the wise Kat to me way back - there are 3 b&h Gold in my garden shed. I reached my record quit today and so think I will go and smoke them. How dumb is that!
I have no external stressors that make this a good option - it isn't. I will lose credibility and will have to leave the forum as I mess up another quit, and go back to day 1.
I am rubbish at this and very likely to be a restart, or not, tomorrow - post and wait is final option......record beaten at 10pm, ready to smoke again at 10.30
This looks like it comes from nowhere - it comes from my head thinking there is a finishing line, when there isn't
Very sad

Re posting and waiting for 3 replies...........this can work if you have access to the forum at the particular time of need. However, if you don't have access to it and are really struggling it is a different kettle of fish. It happened to me, 6 weeks into my first attempt.......I was at work with no internet access and craving so badly and I ended up buying a packet of 10 and smoking the lot. So, it was back to Day 1 for me. However, from it, I learned a lesson which has stood me in good stead ever since, and that is to recognise when a crave is coming and to have a strategy to nip it in the bud, before it grows into a monster that consumes you and makes you succumb to the fags.
For me, it was a Friday at work......Fridays are a particularly bad workday for me, so now every Friday, I am aware that I need to be particularly on my guard and somehow, just knowing this and being aware that it is a particularly stressful day seems to help ........I think it's because the craves cannot creep up on me and take me by surprise any more, as I am aware that they are lurking around.
I am miserable as sin but still going - no doubt once I get over this little hurdle I will be a happy (easter) bunny again.....
What on earth I was doing with emergency cigarettes I really do not know - anyway they went under the tap, and the grind goes on

Well done mina, am guessing it was really hard doing it but you have done the right thing. I know for a fact that if i had ever had instant access to a fag i would have smoked it
Even though you are miserable at the minute you should feel proud of yourself too

Mina,
You say you're still feeling miserable, but at the same time, you know you did the right thing, you know you'll come through it, and you know you'll be stronger for it - with each battle you win, you are closer to winning the war

Awwww, pic4ever.com/images/bighug.gif Mina your poor brain is adjusting to not having it's pleasure receptors tickled by the nic monster, it takes a while for the old grey matter to get used to producing it's own feel good endorphins again. You will conquer this, you have done so well up to now this will be but a minor inconvenience for you to laugh at in the next couple of weeks xx
No work now for 5 day so I am feeling very Eastery, (and mildly victorious!) - my wine and stinky cheese have arrived (different thread!), I have poked one of the cheeses - it smells like rotting socks and is almost liquid - I am delighted - not so OH who has banned it to the garage!
I'm not saying they would have been binned had I given in yesterday, but I think I will enjoy them all the more for having resisted.....very timely delivery, when Mr Postie knocked this morning it was almost like "And here's your prize!!"
Thank you everyone for the support...
One day (hopefully soon) I will be strong enough to start the bit where I give as well as take, until then, insights, empathy and cheese recommendations much appreciated!
Very glad to hear your wine and stinky cheese have arrived. I love stinky cheese (in fact Stinking Bishop is one of my favorite cheeses of all time) and would be extremely happy to share your feast with you if there's any left over.
Also glad to hear you're feeling better and please don't ever feel you don't give as much as you take. You've provided loads of support and words of wisdom on many occasions and if we can give something back to you it's little enough.
Hey Skiddaw - might have to make that my next pick - current choice of stinky cheese is Epoisses - absolutely scrummy, if a little overpowering to the nose
May I intrude and just say that the smelliest cheese I have ever come across is Danish Havarti. I smelled it once, about 30 years ago and have never forgotten it! Pheweeeeeee...
