Oooh I'm digging in, going to have a chug of rhodiola in a mo - it stops you getting stressed apparently, and works on the same brain receptors as nicotine (which is fab 'cos as an ex 30 a day girl I must have millions) and limits cortisol production!! Too much though and you feel stoned
There's no way I'm going back to smoking now, have smoked far too many fags I hated to go back there!!
Gems, the clouds might be over you right now but the suns there behind them and at some point it will come back out, you're the same as me, craving but for what? Ha weird or what!! It's fab though that you have your mind in the right place, we're bound to have hard days still but we will beat them quit buddy!! We CAN do this!!
What's rhodiola? I want some
Oh it's daft isn't it?
I don't like smoking, spent the last week or so disliking most of the fags I smoked so why crave now? Bonkers!!
But I guess that's addiction for you
We will both be free of that soon, no dobut about it!!
We can do it, we will do it because what's the point of going through those first manky weeks only to start again? That would be soooo silly!!
Oooh rhodiola is a herbal extract (legal too :p) kind of like a stornger Rescue Remedy, people use it for stress, anxiety, quitting smoking, all kinds. It's about a tenner a bottle - the liquid is a lot more effective than tablets, and it really does work
Morning all checking in on day 17 and feeling better than yesterday. Its not that I wanted to smoke, far fro it but I'm sick of this quitting marlarky....I just want it over
I know I have to go through the whole process but just when things seen to be getting better ...wham...you feel like your back at day 3 again.
I'm sticking to it and being strong but sometimes wonder how long it's all going to last.....

smoking is not an option though.
Stick to the last thought!!
For the first month-ish there are some crappy bits but then it gets better and better!!
Carol, i do know how you feel but this time I'm embracing my quit rather than getting fed up with it, I think it's the only way, i do know what you mean though about getting sick of it but see it as the challenge it is, we are all in this together, you're not on your own, it's going to take a while, look how long you smoked for, give it time honey and hang on in there, we are all going to do it this time!!!
Thanks girls....it's just I havnt got much patience and it doing my head in some days.....then I think everyone must be feeling the same.
On days where you feel fed up and want to cave in-don't,instead invoke the stubborn hardfaced woman inside you, square that person up to Nicdemon and just stare him out
Each day you get in the bag,is 2 things;
1.A tough day you ought never to have to do again
2.A day closer to escape,a day closer to never thinking of smoking
And this 1 and 2 change over time I promise, from tough day, very tormented day maybe..to better day..to good day..to better day still and all this occurs as you put in the time, you MUST keep plodding on even when it feels like crap
Oooh i can be a right stubborn one when I want to be!!
And hell, me having a fag o 30 isn't going to make the wind lower is it? Oh no it'll mean I have to go out in it, not indoors blasting music in my ears so I can't hear it
Am pleased with myself for not smoking last night or this morning!!
The winds we've had really scare me and stress me out, so I have been hitting the NRT hard, but it has kept me off smoking
And the biggest thing was that even though I craved the thought of actually smoking didn't seriously enter my head.
Well today I'll need my willpower, Nicorette and rhodiola to drag myself through but it is fab to have beaten away a big trigger for me
Well done Gemma It shows that you are on the path to permanently nailing this vile habit if you can crave but be so resolute and not even think about smoking. Hammer the NRT, it is what it is there for, you will cut down on that when you are ready.
Keep up the sterling work and look out week 3, here we come

Max the funny thing is I have no desire or wish to smoke...of that I'm pleased.
It's just that "feeling"I wish it would go away and leave me in peace.

YAY thanks!!
I'm really pleased that smoking hasn't been tempting must have got the right thoughts going on somewhere!!
Oooh and yes I can come off the NRT later, when I've got the hang of this not smoking thing!!
Gem good to see you plugging on. Be careful with all the extra nrt and potions u are taking u are to get gut rot lol x
LOL Debbie, I'm not going to poison myself - that Rhodiola is properly minging though *eek* but it's got to be better for me than fags hasn't it? Especially 'cos on a day like today I'd have smoked nearer 40 x
