Im moving on.....

So today is 60 days smoke free....and so far im 3 days without the patches. Not even using the inhalator anymore either, so Im making progress which is brilliant.

So Im defo leaving room 2 today (or tomorrow if you count calendar months) and am heading over to Month 3! Have to say....that sounds really quite amazing :D and maddening too  I really do feel like Ive achieved so much, and that I have so much more to achieve.....but then Im really sensitive at the moment too so im probably being daft!!:o

Find it nuts Ive managed to keep going this far, ive not managed this length of time before so this is a major leap for me. Im feeling really, really emotional at the mo, but im not sure if thats a combination of me not feeling well at the moment, and I do have things going on in my life....my nose is really congested with no signs of easing, but thats the damage from smoking and my sinuses will take time to heal.

Im ready to take on month 3 though, just plodding along as you do....I have odd moments where I think of ciggies, but to be fair, not often and nothing major. Ive not had anything major since ditching the patches (well so far) either, so im lucky....I think my brain has accepted and not argued back at me! Again though, I think the fact that I had a chest infection to start with and now have one again is helping cos my head is like NOOOOOOOOOO!!! lol

Im still enjoying my quit, my wonderful journey. Still enjoying doing normal daily things without the ciggies and doing things like holidays or hiking for the first time without ciggies. Im hoping for much more!! :)

On a funnier note...the OH last night made me laugh.....he wanted a ciggie so he rolled away, and then patted his pockets, then his coat pockets, then pretty much every pocket he could find and searched pockets already checked whilst repeating "oh no..where is it...oh no!"....yup he couldnt find his lighter.....so he then asks "Mel, have you got a lighter anywhere!?"...which actually made me laugh even more!! "No" I replied....."I chucked them all out as I dont smoke!"......he had to use the matches kept for the cooker! lol

But it made me remember all the times I had misplaced the lighter and half emptied my handbag in the middle of the street whilst walking (Im brill at multi-tasking!) to try and find it! Boy...I DO NOT miss that at all :D

Anyway, Im off to say hello to Month 3....so all of you in month 2 who have kept me company, keep it up....I will be watching you! Plus I need you to keep me company in month 3 as I get shy around meeting new people :o.

Mel I love your posts, they are so positive and upbeat.

Huge congratulations on finishing 2 months! Of course you should be massively proud of yourself! You've done this by yourself, for yourself and you've gone further than you've ever gone before! You're doing fantastically well. I love that you're enjoying doing all those things that you used to do as a smoker. They hold no fear for you, you jump at the chance and are rightly proud when you cruise through them.

I also love the story of hubby looking for a lighter and your multi tasking. I used to do that as well! Also, I remember trying to light up when it was really windy. I would keep giving it a go no matter how silly it was to continue trying!

I hope you're going to celebrate in style Mel, you deserve it. Keep going down the road, there's nothing but good along there :D

Molly x

pic4ever.com/images/greenst... Congratulations Mel, it's amazing that feeling isn't it? - and I can promise it just gets better and better ;) I had to laugh too, remembering the "lighter" search, usually with a fag hanging out the corner of my mouth while I searched every crook and cranny of my bag and person, then actually trying to light a fag in the wind and singing my hair once succeeded - oh god, what a slave will do for it's master. Keep rocking that feeling Mel pic4ever.com/images/47b20s0...
