Hello all.

day 5 and all's well.

I have coughed at bit and am wheezing like a busted squeezebox.

Mouth still tastes like a cesspit. Gums started bleeding brushing my teeth this morning

I did however manage to sleep through to the alarm this morning for the first time since stopping :)

Hanging in there...

best

Steve

I've just replied to your Day 4 thread!

Yes, your gums will bleed for a bit when you brush your teeth.....it's because your blood circulation is improving, but it will pass. Trouble is, it just makes your mouth taste even worse!:o

But you will get your nice fresh mouth back and that alone is well worth quitting for!:D

The coughing is your lungs clearing out all the muck from smoking.....that, too, will pass. These things are actually your body starting to repair itself....how brilliant is that, eh!:D

You are now over half-way through another day, Steve!

Well done on making day five!

I had my routine dentist appointment just after I gave up - he advised bleeding gums is normal and they get worse before they get better, and it can take up to a couple of months to be back to normal for some people. A good floss and a good mouth wash will help lots! :)
