Tired...

Hi all,

Now at 51 days...yay!!

Just wanted some advice and expertise from all those who have quit as my googling has failed miserably!

I used to be a 6-7 hrs sleep a night girl but I now NEED 8-9 hrs! I know it might not sound like a big deal but I am finding the need to sleep and the tiredness frustrating. I wake up tired but once I get going I am okay. I didn't expect to feel old when I quit smoking.

Most of the articles say this should pass a few weeks after quitting, not 7 weeks in.

Anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

Fab news on reaching day 51, almost at 8 weeks :D:cool: I'm on day 59 and I'm knackered all the time too, quite often I nod off in front of the telly about 9.30, wake up go to bed and then struggle to get up at 7am. I used to get up earlier when I smoked, mainly to cram in 3 fags before I left :o but I never seemed to have a problem doing it and I used to stay awake until bed time too (usually after the 10pm news) I don't know whether it's because nicotine is a stimulant or that we all seemed to drink more tea and coffee when we smoked that our bodies are following a more natural pattern that we've denied them for so long

Repairs

I don't know I am also nearly 10 weeks as a non-smoker and I have had that sleepy phase, so if you can enjoy it do so! I like to think the body want's to get on repairing the damage caused by smoking, and if it shuts us down it's free to concentrate on the repairs.

I could have slept round the clock for months. I have always been a good sleeper but that was too much. It will go away.

Thanks guys you are the best. Whilst it hasn't solved the problem it really helps to know I am not the only one or the only one frustrated with this problem.

Hoping it does get better otherwise I will be a non smoker with no social life ;) not giving up though.

If anyone has any tips on how they got through it or how long it took, let me know

Jess xo

I still feel tired even after 5 months, I am lucky I can sleep as and when. My mojo is somewhere in that pile too ! :)

I can't help with advice or tips Jess, but I hope it gets sorted very soon!:)

You've fought a long battle against nicotine.....maybe there's a bit of general weariness from that?

Hope it gets resolved anyway!:)
