So day 4 is nearly complete (there are no posts for days 1-3 as I've only just discovered the site:o)
Have really only had one really strong craving this afternoon at work (which is weird as I never used to smoke during the working day)...suffering a little though:
Mouth tastes like a fetid garbage can.
Still feel light headed/dizzy since day one.
"windy":eek:
But hey! After best part of a pack for almost 20 years I am actually amazed I have got this far. I had bought myself an e-cig before the actual quit day - oddly enough it is comforting to fiddle with it in the hand rather than actually puff on it?!
Best to all.
Steve

These grotty side effects are just your body adjusting after the years of abuse! You may find that your gums start to bleed a bit when brushing your teeth, too, but it's just because your blood circulation is improving. These things will pass!
Oh, and you will get a lovely fresh mouth with no grotty taste and aftertaste of fags.....yyyeeeeuuuuuuccchhhhhh:D That alone is worth quitting for!
So, well done so far, Steve, and keep on keeping on!
Welcome Steve and a massive well done on getting to day four. You will start feeling better soon, it all gradually wears off and one day you'll realise that horrid taste at the back of your tongue has gone, you can concentrate for more than 30 seconds and the light headedness will disappear completely. As for the windiness I suffer terribly if eating sugar free sweets and gum, I don't know if you're a fan, but swapping for normal hard boiled sweets has made a massive difference but smoking does affect your stomach so it might just be settling down without nicotine. Look forward to the good things coming like developing a sense of smell to rival a blood hound, tastebuds that zing, and all that extra dosh in your pocket. Good luck with your quit
