smoking and schizophrenia

Hi gra - I have heard before of the high incidence of smoking amongst schizophrenic persons. Given that schizophrenic sufferers smoke to reduce the affect of the medication then you should give yourself a massive pat on the back: you've beaten the odds.:)

I've also read about the high incidence of smoking amongst depression sufferers generally. Apparently, according to the articles I've read, it's the dopamine the smokers are after.

Fortunately, we can get dopamine from many sources - doesn't have to be cigarettes.

I remember reading one of your posts that said that you'd stopped smoking & could now buy a house. You've done so well - houses must cost a fortune in "mining boom" WA.

I've also read about the high incidence of smoking amongst depression sufferers generally.
