I just flushed them down the toilet - day zero of my journey to freedom. The months of nagging from girlfriend have finally convinced me that life as a non smoker is my way to go! I am ready to see this through - the beginning of the end
Ground Zero: I just flushed them down the... - No Smoking Day
Ground Zero
Hello, randompeanut and well done on making the decision to start a whole new and wonderful life for yourself.
If you have any wobbles, or any questions or just need to have a good old rant, then this is the place to be. The lovely and amazing people here understand everything that you may go through during your journey to smoke-free-ness, as everyone here has been there!
Just make sure that you are quitting for yourself and not because of the gf's "nagging"!
Welcome aboard.
Good luck with your quote and be sure to keep us updated on your progress.
Welcome on board, I hope your day one goes well, stay strong and your soon be on week 2 feeling as proud as punch.

Thanks guys, your comments are very appreciated. The first two days went ok, now I am really, really really struggling...
Mate. It is hard, but so is a lifetime of smoking. Try not to think beyond the very short term, take each desire to smoke at a time and deal with that - one crave at a time and one day at a time. Don't worry about tomorrow - just promise yourself that you'll get through today without smoking. Good luck
This is hard!!!!!!!!!
When the doctor says we will have to amputate a leg maybe 2 unless you stop smoking now that's tough to deal with. I haven't been in that position but I know some people who have, one in particular carried on smoking until his death. I haven't smoked for 6 weeks and 6 days and I am feeling great! So for your future health never smoke again! I can understand why your girlfriend want's you to quit she loves you.
Good Luck
You can do this!!!
I am in my 5th month of not smoking. I quit cold turkey with no NRT. I feel for you because it is a struggle. It's a hard road to recovery, but just STAY strong. You WILL have better days to come.
I can't honestly tell you how I quit, but I wasn't even planning it. I had thought about it and it just happened one night. I said, "Never again" and I haven't.
The one thing I can say is the people on this forum help me tremendously and I just come on here for support when i need it. I am glad you decided to join the group. It was a wise choice to help you through the journey.
There are days still today (though few and far between) that I want one, not because I am addicted now, but because I miss sitting and smokin a cigarette with my coffee in the morning. I never stopped drinking coffee because I was not going to take that away from me either, but I just dealt with the cravings the first week and I feel better than before.... Just keep your faith in your ability to beat this and you will succeed. I smoked 18 years....why? I have no clue. I just knew I wanted my life back without worrying when I needed that next cigarette.
Good luck to you,
Kyle
Good Luck !
