There are some lovely reasons there hun. I know u can get through this. Your stronger than that Nicodemon that seems to want to keep you in his little prison, break those chains and tell Mr Nic to sod off as u can do this without him in your life.
It does get easier, honestly hun. When we all started the Oct 2010 group i was the one looking in thinking OMG I WONT EVER BE SMOKE FREE but with such great support from you and the others i made it through. When i felt like i wanted to give in you guys were there. You know that u can do this and YES i know u can too.
Take care lovely lady and wishing u all the best with your quit xx
As I have been struggling so much, I decided to write a thread of my reasons so I can come and see it in times of difficulty.
1. I need the job I was offered and I need to pass the urine test!
2. I do not want my son thinking smoking is ok
3. My son hates it, and I do not want him judging me
4. I want to smell nice, for my car to smell nice and my apartment
5. I want my skin to improve, I am not getting any younger!
6. As a nurse I should set an example
7. I am going to be working 12 hour shifts - this will be so much easier if I am not a smoker on a non-smoking campus
8. I hate smoking, it makes me feel like a less capable and weaker person
As I think of more I will update.
I think you forgot the most important reason, and this really makes a huge difference - first and foremost, you've got to want to do this for YOURSELF. All the reasons you've posted are great but (except for the last one) they are all reactions to external influences.
The will to do this must come from within if you are to be successful - DO IT FOR YOU!!
