Hey everyone. I am a smoker of seven years and about to quit tonight. Although I have tried a few times within the last year I always give in roughly two days in to the quit attempt because of being 'scared' and very anxious. Has anyone got any of your own personal tips to help improve my chances of Quitting :) .

stopping smoking tips

Hello Menosmokenomore,

Try not to look on your quit as a forever thing though that's your ultimate goal. Break your day down into managable chunks especially when tempted. I found that it was easier to say to myself "I'll stop smoking for the next five or ten minutes" especially when stressed to allow the urge to smoke to go which it will. Stopping smoking for 10/20 minutes is definitely easier on the mind than saying it's forever. However do not lose sight of your goal i.e:- quitting

My first two weeks were rough, week three was OK, week four was bad again then, on day 31.......nothing. I woke up and realised it was an hour or two before I thought of a smoke, and I haven't looked back since. Not so far anyway, I never take anything for granted ;)
