I am keen to update my posts as a sort of diary that i can look back on. I had a nightmare last hour! I think craves lasting 3 minutes is a lie mine last hours and i know that because im fine again now and it is these moments of calm and real relaxation where i know i wont crave forever....
In those bad times though it is amazing what you will tell yourself to break the quit -
quit after holiday
you will get fat inless you smoke
september be better
maybe one a day is enough for you?
lol had an hour of all these lot repeating themselves and me scrubbing the floor like shut up, shut up!!
In these calm moments i can reflect and think but how will a fag make my holiday more enjoyable? why do i have to gain weight i have a gym membership! september...what about september makes it better? and all that will happen is ill have one...then 19 more that day lol
stopping is the only way, it really is. I feel really happy now i didnt give in because it proves it passes. so hard in that moment though!
Well knock me down with a feather, what an insight
And if that sounds mocking, it's absolutely not intended to be - it really is an insight, and it really is that simple.
I've said it before and I'll say it again:
the only way to stop smoking is to stop smoking.
It's as simple as that, and it's as hard as that. 'Just One More' is never OK - just one = square one, no exceptions.
The 'trick' is all in the mind - once you've educated yourself to bat off all the lies that your nicotine demon is going to fire at you, winning this war becomes entirely achievable and absolutely not 'down to luck'.
Nikki - I know you've been fighting this horrible addiction for too long now, and after a while, being at day one yet again really feels like 'Groundhog Day', so NOW is your time to do this, to put smoking behind you once and for all, and to embrace the real joy that freedom brings. You really CAN do this, never doubt it!
