Am not sure if anyone remembers me but no matter.

An update.

I quit smoking june 2011. Its been reallll hard, even now I want a cigarette , but I fight temptation. I can honestly say I feel much healthier. I did gain 3 stone and this has been hard to shift as I tend to crave for sweets a lot now, and eat em!:)

I still want to smoke now and again. My hardest struggle is alcohol. Whenever I drink I really

Miss a cig!. Am I glad I stopped? Sometimes, sometimes I miss it. But I've stopped and it will stay that way for now. If I ever do start again I highly doubt I would quit, I honestly could not go through it all again.

To those who are just starting a quit.

Be strong!...Time flies, before you know it you'll be 2yrs in.

Good luck.

Well thank you.

I smoked from the age of 14 till I was 43......at the end I smoked 40 a day. I used nothing but will power. It is HARD! and only you can do it. Find your own way to cope.Even if you end up 6mths in having a few drags from a fag, remember that's all it is, a few drags. I have bought 20 fags , 10 fags, cigars and a electric cigarette through my quit, but had the strength to say no. I have since given away the ecig and the cigars. ..kept the fags though, am not buying any more.

My advice would be to all who have just started. ..be tough with yourself! ....The first 6 mths are a nightmare, a year is an achievement. After that ...well that's it.....you will always crave a cig and you will always look back and think different things about it, sometimes you'll be glad sometimes you will wish you still smoked.....but hopefully you never will. ..fags are expensive!

you are so right about it always being there somewhere, I relate it to an alcoholic, you cant just have one and not expect to wake the demon up!!

Exactly, you are a drug addict. Nicotine drug addict. Its as hard as heroin to give up. You have to get the drug out of your system , 21 days it takes. After that that the mental war starts, be strong.

Patches, inhalers whatever all keep the drug in you body.

Not what you're looking for?
