Today it is day 10 and i know i have only just scratched the surface but with the help of everyone here i am doing ok. Had a couple of wobbles but i honestly beleive forcing a positive attitude and making myself cheery is helping.
Please do try it if you are struggling. When i let myself mope about i can feel my thoughts turning to the dark side. I then mentally slap myself and say you arent having any so deal with it, and make myself sing a happy song or have a joke with someone and force a smile. It isnt long before im not forcing it anymore and it has worked.
So on that note todays songs are gonna be a bit glam. Im thinking T Rex - Cosmic dancer. A bit of David Bowie - Rock n Roll Suicide. Hmmm and this afternoon i may bring in a little Queen - Fat bottomed girls (they really do make the rocking world go round!!!!)
Join me if you will.
If you think this a load of nonsense then oh well
I was dancing when i was twelve......

Well done! If it works for you - keep doing it! I have one song going over and over in my head today thx to posting lyrics on here last night to annoy someone else!!! Serves me right I guess. Well I will share so you can all sing along...
I can't smile without you.......
I sort of find myself swaying from side to side while singing this one!
I am in a very bad mood today for various reasons, none to do with this lovely place..... so I am going away from here until I improve my attitude lol. Don't want to be snarly with anyone.....
However I will still sing with you!
You are my biggest supporter and quit buddy, thank you!!!!
I know, I know-- I almost posted the beginning of the song and thought, eh, maybe not- trigger? But i am realizing that that is not even a trigger for me now, since I am so happy to be free from smoking!
After all, david Bowie quit smoking, right? As I was trying to confirm that online, I came across this interesting article on Bowie and smoking from "the big issue, 1997". Ironically, he is being interviewed by "Jarvis". :):). Interesting reading...
That is cool. Well found. Jarvis (the interviewer) is Jarvis Cocker from Pulp (a 90's brit pop band). I dont mean to treat you like an idiot its just they were from the north of England and im not sure their music would have made it to Kentucky ha ha.
Look them up if you like they are quite good. As far as i can remember David Bowie wrote one or two songd for them which were hits over here.
Lol! Yes, we have heard of Pulp here in Kentucky, but I did not realize that was the interviewer, so thanks for telling me!!!
This got me to thinking- now that I am a non-smoker, if time is no longer "taking a cigarette and putting it in my mouth," perhaps I have gained other powers over time as well- time travel, maybe? Ha ha

Ah sorry. Wasnt trying to teach you to suck eggs. I never know which English artist manages the travel over the water ha ha.
Yes time travel would be great. You couldnt pop to next saturday and see what the lottery results will be here could you? He he
No need to apologize! :). Its cool that even tho we live so far apart, we like much of the same music! I too love t rex and queen, and also the cure and neil young, which i saw you mention in other posts.
Today, i have been listening to john lennon, especially "just give me some truth"
Yes, I'd like to think that becoming a non-smoker is bringing me special powers! I will begin work right away on the lottery numbers for you! :D:D

I saw Neil Young on london about three years ago. It was the best gig i have ever seen. He was absolutely amazing. I could watch him forever.
The cherry on the cake was that as an oncore he sang 'a day in the life' by the beatles and half way through Paul Mcartney came out to sing with him.
I will never get over that as long as i live.
Glad to speak with you. Music has an amazing way of bringing people together.
I'll split the lottery win with you if you can pull it off he he.
