Hi folks today I find myself with the biggest crave ever since quitting a year and a half ago . Im in the middle of exams and I have never known such stress in my life. I don't know how young people cope with it. My sanity is on a knife edge and the desire to do something to ease my way through this is strong. But I wont smoke. Just wanted to visit u all and say Hi really. And good luck to us all.

Just remember, it's only because you're doing it for the first, or maybe second time since quitting, so it's been a dormant trigger. Like every other trigger, you just have to face it down. The difference between now and the early days is you KNOW you can do it and you KNOW it will pass.
The very best of luck with your exams. I'm sure you'll do great. And cigs don't make you cleverer!
Thanks for your replies , the exam was a doddle only three more to go before next Monday then a summer of freedom how fantastic is that? I really appreciate this forum just as much today as when I was in my quit infancy. Its a treasure trove full of good stuff.Love it.
Isn't it always the way. We get stressed out over something like an exam and then we walk it. Good luck with the others. Aren't you glad you didn't give in
yes I am glad I didn't give in I would be devastated and really unhappy.Beware complacency and dormant triggers, they wait . Onwards and upwards and smoking recedes further away leaving me to embrace more freedom.

Just wanted to say good luck for the exam. I took an exam myself in April this year and found it the most challenging time of my quit, as when I had taken exams previously I would 'survive' in the final run up on gallons of coffee and ciggies. I did pop in here more often around my exam time and it was a big source of comfort, so I hope that you will soon be over the exam and of course the crave.
Congratulations on not succumbing to the dreaded crave as you are doing your exams.
It takes a lot of courage to return to study & these days it's not a good "look" to smoke. I've noticed that the number of young people smoking on campus is VERY small. If you were to smoke you would stand out like a sore thumb for all the wrong reasons.
I think you already know that if you hadn't stopped smoking you probably wouldn't have had the confidence to go back to study - smoking holds people back in so many ways these days.
You've done so well in showing us the liberating affect of not smoking.
