I've always been a relatively early riser (630) but since the big cutting down and eventual quit I am waking up at 4.30/5 at the latest and cannot get back to sleep. weekends are now the same. I now get up rather than lying in bed dreaming of big giant marlboro lights but needless to say by 3pm i am completely whacked.
my life is a bit crazy anyhow and im always on the go but at this rate i will be completely zonked in the next week and really cannot face getting run down.
im still on the e cig so surely this isnt nicotine withdrawal? (even though i accept im on lower doses).
help before i go completley insomniac bonkers

Unfortunately I think it's quite normal to have your sleep interrupted for a while after you quit. I've been waking up more often - usually between 3 and 4:30am but am able to fall asleep again. I don't think it's nicotine withdrawal but I not know what it is. Sorry I can't be more helpful!
oh gemma lou - those dear marlboro lights - i do miss those best friends of mine.
no no no no - i don't. the mind is now going wonky. i dont miss them, i miss the "idea". good. thats progress. well done newstart.
thanks all - time for my bed as no doubt i will now start waking up at 1am - in fact maybe its time just to abandon sleep altogether. after all, every other part of my routine has gone completely haywire
on a serious note, its suddenly hit me today how cigarettes literally controlled EVERY part of my life - emotional, physical and mental. oh boy.....
thanks again everyone - soooo nice to come to a safe place where i dont seem to be the only one going a bit bonkers from time to time...

Oh I know what you mean hun
You don't really miss them but on one level you do - sounds a bit weird but I think all smokers get it!!

LOL I've always been bonkers ao I seem normal for here
But yes, sleep is a bit off at the start, and dreaming about smoking - then dreaming about not smoking. Weird or what?
