... and I'm celebrating with a box of Kleenex Balsam tissues and a tub of Vick's Vaporub
Feeling pretty sorry for myself today, but it's great not having to debate with myself whether or not it would be "wise" to smoke while I feel this way. I'm hoping that this time my cold won't be as prolonged as they have been in the past, though my mum said that the last time she managed a decent quit attempt she tended to still have pretty rough colds for the first twelve months or so.
I suppose I should expect my poor body to take time to repair itself after the damage I have done!
Overall I am very happy today (and rather snotty :o) and am prouder than ever to have come this far and to be so confident in my quit
Thanks guys *sniffle* xxx

But a huge well done for getting to 100 days, that's flipping fantastic!!
I hardly get colds, smoker or no, but thye definitely don't last as long when I don't smoke
Mind you, I never thought about stopping when I was ill either - just if I "needed" menthols or not. Think I win the "stupid" prize for that one
Here's to the next 100 days and we can celebrate properly when you're feeling better :cool:
xxx
Yayyyy!! 100 days!! *pauses to blow nose* Yayyy!
Yes, the other half is taking good care of me Unfortunately colds seem to be "my thing". I don't tend to get sickness bugs but I'm on my third cold in the last seven months and they always seem to bring along the muscle aches and stay up in my head forever! *sighs*
Nevermind, it will be gone in the next week
I cannot wait for the next 100 days! Bring it on! xxx

Aww that's nasty!!
*Hands you tissues*
My colds always used to go on my chest, and I got a telling off from one of my friends the last one I got (she's a doctor) "Oh Gemma, your symptoms are typical of a smoker" - served me right for moaning about having a cough
You stay nice and cosy, and don't forget to milk it
CONGRATULATIONS!! That is a fantastic milestone to reach. Too right you should be proud, very proud. You have done so well, *raises hat to you* would raise a drink but it is too early to drink so I shall raise my coffee mug *cheers* :D
OPPS, so busy congratulating you, forgot about yucky cold. Hope that clears up soon. ( I remember telling myself that the only thing that stopped me coughing when I had a cold was a fag- it did as it killed down all the special little hairs and killed the feeling in my throat..how sad was I:mad
yay great n stuff, but I though I was 100 days yesterday and quit the day before, 22nd Feb?
Have i been adding up wrong all this time or have I been locked up in a time bubble again? Last time that happened all my flares stopped being trending so gawd knows what faux pas I am committing today!
Well 23/05 was 90 days for me. Add ten days on (there are 31 days in May) and that should take me to 02/06, which was yesterday
It's all rather confusing, so I tend to concentrate more on 23rd of each month as my marker!

Oh LOL Trea, used to smoke menthols when I had a bad cold because I thought it helped :rolleyes:
Can remember the only time I actually stopped 'cos i was ill - got a cough by about day 4 and was really looking forward to starting smoking again to kill off the hairs. How b.loody stupid is that?
