YAY 5 months ago today was my first smoke free day
Since then I have:
Not smoked at least 3,026 fags
Saved £1,210.40
Given myself 12 days, 14 hours and 36 mins longer to live
I don't stink of fags, am not paranoid about breathing fagbreath over people or worrying if they can smell fags on me
I love not worrying about where I can smoke, no more diving out in the rain to smoke as fast as I can manage (which was very, lol), not wondering if I needed to buy fags - or if I had enough!!
And as far as kicking the e-cig goes, I'm getting there. Am still at the "feeling lost and down" stage with that but know from kicking the real thing that it's only a stage I'm going through.
Next step, lose the weight I've put on

Way to go girl:). Well done, I know you've had a bumpy ride on this quit smoking rollercoaster, but my goodness you've came through it all on top.
I've said it before, this is definitely 'the one for you'. Well done
And despite the struggles you've had, you are always such an encouraging and supportive member of the Forum too
Fi x
Aww thanks Fi, that's really nice!!
It's not been easy, but in a way that makes me more determined 'cos I don't want all of this to have been for nothing and definitely don't want to do it all over again!!
5 months is massive hon, one more and you'll have half a year in your pocket - how amazing is that?! You're one of my forum heroes and a good pal into the bargain, well done our Gemma, you're a star and we all love you to bits!xxx
Aww thanks Kat!! *Higs fives*
I definitly wouldn't be here without you - and I owe you for last Saturday dragging me away from the e-cig!!
Talking of which, have just been to do the weekly food shop and have dumped both e-cig batteries in the battery box - so no chance of smoking that any more
OK half of Lidl wondered why that girl was grinning inanely but it feels fab
Personally I'd have disposed of the batteries by either throwing them from a cliff top into the sea Tom Cruise Top Gun style, or burying them somewhere with a signed note saying "buried with my habit in 2013" or something like that...
You did the responsible thing tho' As I said, congrats on 5 months, another line in the sand drawn....and crossed.... x

Lol Hawk!! I'd have loved to, but am too much of a goody-goody for that
I can bury the ends or something though *starts thinking*
Whoooooo hooooo! Well Done!!!! You should feel VERY proud of yourself!!!
Thanks Sophie!!
Am doubly proud 'cos I have got really close to caving in and smoking but haven't (that's down to this place, am sure of it) and on my 5 months day binned those damn batteries
Massive well done Gemma-lou, you've not had an easy time lately but you are getting there.
Please stick with it as the older you get and the more years you smoke the harder you will find it is to quit.
Stay strong
Thanks Netti!!
Am definitely going to stick with it, I quit for 18 months back in 2008 when I was 24 and that short time ago was much easier than this so really don't want to quit again later on
Well done sweetie pie, you've been amazing over the last few rather challenging weeks and you should be really proud!!
I'm very happy to be following in the footsteps of someone so strong, so thanks for setting a great example! Don't know how I'd have managed to get to where I am without you so don't you be thinking of leaving me any time soon!
