It made me cough too :eek: You get used to it though.
Bizarre, but smoking didn't make me cough, ever (not the actual smoking bit I mean, doing it for years gave me a cough) while the e-cig did.
What i don't get is how people rave on about how wonderful they are, how they're just like smoking, how they taste the same, blah blah when mine certainly doesn't!!

Never even considered stopping when i had a cough or cold - used to say I felt lousy enough without that on top :eek:
If I was really bad I'd smoke menthols instead, but wouldn't stop.
Had a horrible throat infection in 2008, and that forced me into stopping - which turned into an 18 month quit.
In a way I'm kind of glad that they don't taste like cigarettes.
While the nicotine is there and it's still best to be cautious, it doesn't remind me of smoking (the thing is really heavy and has a strange aftertaste) but seems to act like my patches were. It just eases the crazy "I want to smoke" thoughts in my brain.

I think it was about a year or so ago when I decided I'd stop smoking when poorly and I seemed to manage just fine whenever I had a cold. Sometimes I'd "crave" one, but I always knew I'd go back to it in a few days anyway so I guess I felt like I wasn't being deprived.
With that kind of brain power, you'd think I should be finding my wuit easier!

Me too, that's one of the reasons I chose a triple mint one.
That said, the "tobacco" ends in my kit tasted just strange - have smoked most brands at one time or another and don't think any tasted like that.
Never really liked the taste of ciggies, but if the e-cig tasted like one I'd be worried about getting into it again.

Am on day 114 :cool: which means if someone put the fags I would have smoked end to end, the line would be nearly 2 KM long. :eek:

Especially now the fragrance lasts longer than a couple of hours Can't believe that it took me over 30 years to realise the benefits of not smoking!! I do hope the penthouse comes with luxury toiletries to go with the jacuzzi!!

How did the school shoe shopping go ?? From memory it was always a nightmare when my boys were younger, queuing in Clarks and then when it was our turn they would kick up a fuss and didn't want their feet measured

We didn't go in the end, it was chucking it down with snow and my eldest had a late night at cadets. Planned for Monday now.
They are not too bad with shoe shopping, its clothes that are a nightmare.
They are 13 and 11 so have to get adult shoes for my eldest now....................his feet are 3 sizes bigger than mine!!!
Yep, nearly day 4. Mornings seem to be the worst time for me as that is when I would smoke the most with my coffees lol
OH turned up today, I so wanted him to have a cig just so that i could say 'no thank you'. He didn't have one tho and is so proud of me
fab ! stick with it and keep posting on here and whilst it may not be always plain sailing the worst of the physical withdrawal will soon be over and then its just the mental battle

that was /is my hardest time too, I used to get up early so i could have a couple of coffees and a couple of cigs before the world awoke. Today I did the washing and sorted out my books (found an old Allen Carr one!).
Day 4 is easier than day 3 so if you got through today you will be great tomorrow- shoe shopping or not. x

I know its early days but I am proud of myself. My boys are proud of me AND I haven't bitten anyones head off today either.
I do feel a bit of a saddo tho because I havent logged off here all day lol
