Day 18 and I slipped. Hubby and I had an argument and I smoked  I'm not proud of myself.

don't be too hard on yourself, I would imagine that 90% plus on this forum have failed quits behind them and thats why we find ourselves on here battling through it.

18 days of quitting is a great achievement and hopefully you can draw on what you have learned so far and get back into your quit

Trick is - pick yourself up, learn from this forum and your mistakes, and come back more determined. Don't knock yourself too much - we have all been there at some point. :D

Thanks everyone. I'm starting my quit again today.

Slipping with one will be an easier quit then starting again and then quitting.

Well done for getting back on with your quit Catty :)

We have *all* done that in the past, but it takes determination to put it behind you and hop back on the wagon!!

Forget it and just carry on. One cigarette is just a slip and not worth beating yourself up over. I admire you for coming on here and admitting this minor slip, I am sure lots would just keep quiet and carry on. I have slipped in previous quits and let it get to me so much I carried on smoking again. Good luck from now on xx

Woooo!!

Well done Catty!!

Climb back onto the wagon and stay positive! You're awesome for being honest and also for not allowing the guilt to suck you back in! :D

We're all here if you need a rant or some words of wisdom to help you through!

As the others say, just dust yourself down, and start all over again.

Baby steps, and try not to look too far ahead.

Any tension, take yourself out a lovely walk:)

^^^^^^What the others said.

Cut yourself some slack and start again.

Instead of dwelling on the one you had, think of all the ones you could have had in those days and didn't.

You can do this. And you've learned that very valuable lesson that smoking does not help in the slightest. Onward and upwards and come on here and rant if you find yourself in the situation again. You'll get lots of support here. xx
