Well this is it.. my first week not smoking.

Overall not been as difficult as i had feared.

Had a few dodgy moments but survived them.

Im looking forward to my stopping smoking clinic today so i can actually see the difference it has made in my breath test.

Huge well done to you Mabs!!

It's a great milestone to have reached, and i hope you get great results from your clinic :D

It's only going to get better!!

Ooh and it never is as hard as you think - "the only thing that keeps us smoking is fear"

Thanks for your support.

A bit of a disappointment this morning though, i went for my first week smoke free breath test and the woman who was meant to be doing it (and writing my new prescription for the patches) has decided to put a holiday day in and there was no one else who could do it.

They said i could call back in later today to see if someone then could do it, if not that means i will have to buy some more patches myself since i darent wait over the bank holidays and weekend without nothing.

So im off in a bit to see if i can see someone else.

I feel i have done really well actually, only a few dodgy moments this last week but told myself that i could have a cig if i wanted to but to have a drink and a satsuma first, then if i still wanted one i could have one.

That worked and the craving went by the time the kettle had boiled haha

Hope everyone is having a good day

Aww that's a shame, I hope you can see someone else and you get great readings!!

Definitely think you should make sure you've got your patches - like Kat says they're cheaper than fags and it would be a worry for you to be without them.

You have done brilliantly Mabs!!

And your strategy is a good one - most of the craves we get (like most of the fags we smoked) are because we're bored, or just "because" and giving yourself something else to do and saying "later" usually smashes them :D
