4 years tomorrow

Tomorrow will be 4 years since I quit cold turkey.

It's so easy now, and any urge ( very rare now) that I get lasts only a nano second.

Hardest but best thing I ever did. Smoking was an insidious pastime, leeching into every area of my life and took a good year to yank out again. NOPE

I'm almost to one year, and I don't even think four years down the road, but when I see posts like this, I remember how, on the one hand, "the rest of your life" seemed so overwhelming and scary a commitment when I first quit, and how "the rest of your life" now seems perfectly natural and normal.

I'd love to be four years out from my quit date - but I no longer want to rush anything to get there. I'm learning these days how to be patient and in the moment and take the gift of the day unfolding in front me.

I also know, as I approach the one year anniversary, how quickly it suddenly comes up on you when you don't look way downstream but focus on the day at hand. One day leads to another which leads to another and so on.

Anyhoo, congrats on a fantastic achievement and thanks for dropping by and inspiring all of us grasshoppers.
