So day one done and dusted and now into day two. Yesterday didn't seem that bad really although am struggling a bit more today. But taken a lozenge and that's really helped so as someone said to me on here yesterday - baby steps. If I'm honest I need to keep reminding myself of that - for some reason the whole big picture keeps coming up and biting me on the backside so I need to just kick it in the you know what.
Incidently my other half (30-40 a day for 25 years) has just completed 45 days - wow! I'm determined to follow suit now!
Thanks you so much for all your replies. Hopefully once I get used to this forum I can get a bit more involved as I know just how much these places help (I've never tried to give up before so a SS board is new to me but I joined a board 7 years ago when going through some personal issues and am still in touch with some of the friends I "met" and helped me on my way!). So thanks in advance for giving up your time to cheer and encourage us! Means a lot :)

Well done Claj, just keep doing what your doing and taking each day as it comes and youll be on your first week milestone before you know it. Keep it up
As someone famous once said, "take care of the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves". And so with quitting, just think about not smoking for today, and before you know it you'll have weeks and then months under your belt, and by then your thoughts of smoking will be occasional fading memories!
I used to have a quote after my signature on this site. It said:
"Nobody trips over mountains. It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble. Pass all the pebbles in your path, and you will find that you have crossed the mountain".
In other words Claj, take it one day at a time. Focus on that, don't worry about the rest of the journey, and you will be fine.
