Hi Hev, welcome to the site.

yes, totally normal! I did that too!

These first days are proper tough, but you can do it. This site is an absolute godsend, everybody is in the same boat (although some have sailed further :)) and can give you advice, support, and just a feeling of comradeship which can really help.

This is worth all the pain, I promise you, and it will get easier!

Helen

Welcome to the forum, and well done on making the best decision of your life! Quitting is hard in the early days but it gets easier and easier, you just have to dig in and battle through the tough early days. You can do it with the help of this forum and your determination:)

Thanks all! Ok so I am not going mad just yet then! I am trying tabex as have tried the patches before and they didn't really help (obviously as I am trying agagain he he) I also don't think I have stopped eating today and am dreading work as my brain is mush!! Glad I found this forum!!

You are doing really well so far. I am on day 3, for the second time :(

My slip last time was when 'I can never have one again' became too much for me to think about. This time I am following the wise words of another on this site which suggested thinking about it like a long haul flight - ie just get through the next 12 hours. It has made it much easier.

Keep with it, everybody here will be right there with you.

Hi Hev!! welcome on board the journey!!

Im just finishing Day 6, earlier (without realising!), I'd roll up my empty crisp packet (just one the 5 pks I ate!)......and was 'smoking' it!!! LOL! My hubby said......ummmm babe, what are you doing??!!

Ive eaten soooooo much in the last 6 days, takeaways, crisps, cakes anything I could get my hands on.....HOWEVER....I never smoked......phew!

Your doing great, it does get a little easier each day.....STICK WITH IT!! And well done for choosing to quit (albeit again!! Im the same!)

Keep on the forum for support, these people are so great, really does help having support from people going through or gone through the same experiences. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I will not sugar coat this for you the first 3 days will be the worst of your life to be honest your mind will be doing everything its power to make you reach out for a cig. It is down to you to fight these cravings off whichever way you can...you are halfway through this now and coming onto the forum is a massive step and will be so helpful for you....Scream, go for a walk, smoke an imaginery fag, sing, wash up do anything that will take you away from actually lighting up....well done so far keep coming back!!
