I've been lurking here for a couple of days and have decided to join once I quit smoking.
Last night my partner and I didn't make it to countdown to the new year. I actually fell asleep about 11-11:30pm. I smoked my last cigarette at 10:50pm last night. I've been awake for a few hours and already wanting to kill someone for a cigarette!! gaaaaahhhh! It will be worth it though. I'm imagining the extra cash I'll have in my bank account and will be able to afford to do much more instead of giving my money to the greedy tobacco companies!
I can actually feel the toxins sweat out of my pores...yuck!

Thanks tracy I've hit that milestone of 12 hours now I can get on with the day!
I'm feeling a bit emotional today, my shoulders are tense. All I can do is just stretch them out and drink my favourite drink, Twinings English Breakfast Tea. It's actually helping me with the cravings. I hardly drank it when I had a smoke (it was normally coffee or coke zero).
thats awesome, Im on day 6 and let me say its worth it so far. You may feel a bit mental, take some panadol if you get achy and drink heaps of water, it helps me when I want a cig I go for water. Are you goin cold turkey??????

Yep, going cold turkey! I had just found out today my partner's grandfather has throat cancer :S
Oh! Sorry to hear that ,that's really hard on everyone. I hope it turns out ok??????????? Good on you though for going cold turkey, not long and you'll be over the worst of it........... My partner lost her mum a year or so ago now from lung cancer and she quit 2 weeks later........ Still going strong!
