I'm now in week 3 without a fag, enjoyed Christmas day without being stressed or teary - thanks to a few lozenges and the patch, it was great
Even with drinking I didn't really crave a smoke, just the "normal" thinking I'd like one sometimes but not a real crave!
Will probably need the longer course on patches, 'cos it is harder than I thought it would be, but if it gets me off the damn cigarettes and staying off them I don't care.
I'm breathing loads better (when I'm not coughing that is  ) tasting better and don't smell like an ashtray, plus I haven't spent £161.70 on cigarettes so far!! That's going in the sales, for new clothes that won't ever smell smokey
Thanks you everyone on here for the support you've given me, you really have helped ♥♥

It's always freedom of choice for me too now, I can go places where I can't smoke without having to hold myself or everyone else up while I stand outside sparking up, or without trying to sneak out of places to have a fag. I don't worry either about what to wear these days, as bizarre as that sounds. I wouldn't often wear my best clothes for fear of cigarette burns (I have a load of replica football shirts with small holes in!).
Enjoy your Boxing Day, I feel another chocolate attack coming on......
Keeping a positive mindset really does help and treating yourself to something really nice with all the money you are saving is a great incentive
AB does that mean you have more clothes then your wife  if you have to buy clothes that you could wear when you was smoking
mind you now you can wear what you want regardless i have to say i was like that too the times i ruined a top with holes so thats another way of saving money

Oh I know exactly what you mean!
The clothes thing makes real sense to me as well, especially if I was wearing something for the first time - have got too many nice dresses with fag burns from trips to the smoking area on nights out.
It's a real shame when something gets burned - especially something that means a lot to you - and there's the smell too
Enjoy your choccie, and have a lovely day I'm going to attack some too

Ha ha no chance of that, but I have a ludicrously large Liverpool shirt collection, about 50 different ones, and I only ever wore about four of them. If I got a new or rare one I didn't wear it in case I got a burn in it. I got one for Xmas one year and put a hole in it on the same day day. I was in trouble that day for sure.....
Burn marks in clothes, I've got that one too! I just remembered the little dance I would do when smoking in the wind, to try and keep the cigarette down wind of my clothes so hot embers couldn't get on my clothes. More ridiculous and unnecessary behaviour arising from the smoking habit.

Oh I remember that too!
And holding the thing as far away from me as possible so I didn't reek of fags.
The number of times I ended up with grey streaks down my skirt or trousers when the ash dropped off my fag by accident or the wind caught the ash and blew it at me - only seemed to happen when I was wearing black though.
More you think about it the more of a pain smoking is!
Was it just me or was ash in the wind then straight in to eye a real bummer!
Or....probably more with roll ups....they used to stick to your lip causing you to slide your fingers down the horrible thing and burning your finger ends!
If it was just me then I thank God I will never do it again

Ow forgot about that......most of my mishaps came when I rolled badly and the whole thing turned into a brief mass of flame under my nose and flaming pieces of cigarette billowed all around. Cue the mad dance to make sure nothing fell on the shirt......

Keep going Gemma....your positivity is infectious
Take care

Aw thanks, I hope so!
Ash anywhere was a real pain, and I managed to burn my fingers with ready made fags a fair bit too - never got the hang of making roll ups
And I used to burn the tips of my nails somehow as well on the hot end - I like to keep the tips white so it noticed!!
Oh, and smoke blowing in my eyes or up my nose, burning my lips when the fag burned down and got the filter hot, and having to redo my lipgloss after a smoke - even more things I'm not going to miss!
I've started having the dreams people say about on the patches! Very odd ones too, and I'm smoking in a lot of them  I've got used to waking up every few hours now.
And I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but don't need my glasses as much as I used to!
