I'm new to this forum and I have been a non smoker for almost three weeks.
I have stopped by using the Allen Carr book so I am not using any NRT, all nicotine has now gone from my system and I honestly feel that was the best way to do it, for me anyway, as I found in the past all NRT did was make me want to smoke.
However, I do get a really odd feeling the morning after we've been out for a drink. It's really weird but I always feel like I've been smoking the previous night. I haven't and don't know why I should feel like that. It's happened twice, maybe it's just what a non smoker hangover feels like, I have no idea as I had been a smoker longer than a drinker and on previous attempts I never got as far as managing a drink without a smoke
Anyone else have this odd feeling?

Yes yes, its weird isn't it? i get this too, i really could quite fancy a ciggie in the morning after a heavy session, the mouth has that delicious dehydrated carpet texture that tastes like a penguins dropped one in your mouth as you slept, yet still you crave the refreshing minty taste of a fag.... aren't we a crazy breed?
I dont get it so much now, but it was crazy, my mouth tastes awful.... surely a smoke'll make it better ..... errr error! silly brain!
I think the brain associated the nasty dehydration with smoking and its an odd trigger.
Glad im not on my own on that one, i'd never thought to post it! congrats on your quit by the way. xx
Doens't help that alcohol is a depressant so when your all achy, glum and carpermouthed the next day, those ciggies had seratonin enhancing uppers in them to make you feel all happy. Thats probably what your missing in the morning after.
Try natural seratonin enhancers instead, walnuts, banana's & Marmite.... not all together mind, fruit juices to rehydrate, a good greasy brekkie and a fresh aired stroll. (easier sometimes said than done eh?)
A fag in that condition after you've stopped for so long will make you dizzy and pukey.
I had a few glasses of wine last night and felt I had smoked 40 cigs. I haven't had much alcohol in the last 6 months because the wine doesn't taste as good as it used to.
I had drinks on saturday night and spent all sunday on the sofa...hangover like nothing I have felt in my life before  I think I may need to ease up on the old amber nectar
