£414.43 saved in 36days

Yes £414.43 not spent on cancer stinky sticks in 36 days:eek:

So I treated myself to the Samsung top of the range note pad :D, I'd never have justified spending that kind of cash before, but as I have quit my nasty smelly habit and saved more than enough for it, I thought stuff it why not :p

So everybody reading this,, do treat yourself it does make the quit more worth it as I'm writing this post on my new pad and so so proud to be 5wks smoke free healthier, smelling alot fresher and nicer, more energy.. ok a bit heavier and size 10 is slowly creeping to a size 12  but the jogging will help with that especially now can breathe lol, oh yes and more pennies spare. I think the point I'm trying to get at is yes it's hard, and sometimes very annoying but the positives are definitely starting to outshine the smoking

So keep going day by day, hour by hour or min by min if that helps, but leave them cigs behind as the future is so much better with out them

Good on you

Good for you Sian, that's a great story. Spending money on things you have to show for it rather than seeing it go up in smoke is magnificent:)

As for the weight, yes, I'm trying to lose weight too, but at least it's got to be easier than quitting smoking. I don't want to spend the money I've saved on bigger clothes so I'm trying to diet;)

Nonico I agree I'm not spending extra money on bigger clothes either else I'd get lazy and wouldn't bother to try loose it

Thanks hun

Wohhh. That's a crazy amount of money! It must feel great to buy something so nice with it. And well deserved, I might add.

It's the one benefit I didn't really feel when I quit, as I used to smoke rollies and the tobacco lasted me ages. So I didn't really feel any plumper in the pocket. Jealous!

Me neither Helen

I smoked rollies and used to get my tobacco duty free whenever anybody went on holiday!

My mother in law used to bring 80 packets home every time she went away  and that was about 5 times a year.

I still have 30+ packets left so suppose I should sell them to feel the benefit and buy something nice!! :)

I agree Sian, the benefits are now definitely starting to over shadow the horrible habit....that really does strengthen our quits.

For anybody just starting out or thinking of quitting, please do give it time .... the benefits will come and I for one am looking forward to more! :)

Take care Sian

Cheers

Well done :D

I have been keeping track too, I have saved £382.20 in 44 days so just behind you. And I have enjoyed having money spare, and buying bigger clothes lol, put on about 7lb :( but least I don't smoke anymore :)

The money saved is fantastic. I'll have £2000 in less than 3 weeks. I also weigh 7lbs less. 126lbs so won't have to worry about growing out of my clothes:D

well done sian

That is so much money, I am glad you got something for you. I have new shoes and some bulbs for the garden that I have not yet planted(too cold brr), but now we are having a lean time until payday so I am just trying to feel really good that I am not adding to our woes with my previous horrible and expensive habit. Fish fingers for tea tonight yay!

...............I hear the Biggrin benevolent fund is running a little low. As mentioned before, it supplies aid to Biggrins in financial distress........perhaps a small donation would be in order...........:p
