As I wake up for a brand new day. I also wake up to the start of a fresh new smoking month..
That right people 7MONTHS. I carnt believe it. Iv past the dreaded 6 months failure time.. And did it with ease this time.
People were right when they say it get better. Don't get me wrong I still have silly craves I woke up this morning. Thinking I could really smoke one now. But I seem to go thru a few days crave at the start of a new month.
If ur just starting a quit.. It does get better.

How's Stoke on this wet and windy day? ... well it is in Cumbria anyway (in fact it's wet and windy in Cumbria every day ... 'spose that's why they call it the Lake District! Doh!)
Thank you for this post
We babies look up to all of you that have gone before and it's so reassuring to know you are getting better.

It's very wet and windy today.. But iv got me windows open to let the freshness in. And I love it like this as this is the weather I love to do my jogging in.
Very well done Shelley. Can you see the penthouse from there? It's getting nearer
I realised last night that I haven't played my stop smoking app for a while and I think that's why I wanted to smoke in the morning. I played it last night and I didn't want a fag when I woke up. It isn't any hardship to play it because it helps me sleep
Shelley, you're fantastic, I so hope I can get to where you are now
You go running don't you? Have you always run or is it you've taken up since your quit? I haven't run since I was at school and find the prospect really daunting but would really love to try, I've put soooo much weight on

I ran at school.. Long time ago.. But started when I gave up.. I couldn't run around the corner when I smoked. And when I first started I cud only run/walk I think it was 1 half mile.. I do about 3 miles now
Thanks Shelley, I think I might give it a go. I could try to build up the distance by walking/running to the home my grandma is in now. That's about 3 miles each way. How long did it take you to work up to 3 miles?

It's also always bloody wet in Herefordshire
Shelly we are so proud of you and like Nifty said we all love having encouragement from people like yourself thats come through to the other side

I started it in September was going 3/4 times s a week untill I had an ECG and it came up funny.. So I kind of put it on the back burner for a few weeks. Untill I saw my cardiologist in nov.. But they canceled untill feb so I started just doing it once a week.. I also do Zumba and yoga and wii fit the other days. So I Wud say about a month or so.. But I suppose it depends on ur fitness levels.. As iv always done Zumba and yoga when I smoked
My fitness level is not very good but not absolutely terrible. I can walk at slightly over 4 miles an hour. I was doing that before and got chest pains hence my quit.
From what you've said I'm probably looking at more than a month though
Good luck with your appointment in Feb. I really hope all is well with you x

Running round the block is exercise.. No need to rush into it.
I know, I'll have to go see my grandma anyway because there's no-one else that hasn't moved away and I don't drive so walking it is. I may as well try running a little bit as well. It'll give passing motorists a giggle if nothing else!
Way to go Shelley! Can't believe it's been that long already. I know it was seriously tough for you at the beginning but you are still standing, and that's bloody fantastic, and an inspiration for those coming up behind you.
