Day One on Champix

Hello!

I'm back again! Well, the e-cigs didn't work. At least, they did for 6 months then got too expensive!! Day one on Champix. I've got myself down to about 3 cigs a day before I started taking it so hopefully this should be doable.

I feel disgusting though!!

I've been on Champix and they did the trick for me...even though I had a short course and reduced dose cos they made me feel so sick. I miss the absolutely incredible dreams I had when I was on them. Hope they do the same for you and you get great dreams I'm in week 12 now thanks to Champix.

Picked up my prescription for Champix today - just hoping that it doesn't make me feel ill :confused:

First day - when I get up tomorrow, not looking forward to it as I was told that it could make you feel sick

Hi just to say ive been on champix for 12 days now and quit smoking 6days ago

it makes you feel sick for the 1st couple of days and you dont enjoy your fag much either :confused:

I have wicked dreams and really dont mind them as some are great i must admit u still crave with champix but its strange you dont actually want a fag its just the habit and the craving... i found when my cravings were at their worse id have the nicotinell 1mg lozenger and that would do the trick

Day three tomorrow! not had any real side effects yet but still expecting them! Such good news that you are doing well on them.

I seem to have smoked more today (well this evening) than I did yesturday, but only my second day so I guess I must give it time. :confused:

I'm quitting on Champix too. I carried on smoking for the first 30 days on Champix while cutting down gradually to 2 fags a day before I quit. I found if I smoked a lot on Champix that my head ached, so it acted as a brake. Just on Champix now.

It is a bit unnerving those first few days on Champix when you just don't know what side effects you are going to get - if any.

It really is one day at a time, and I find it better not to think too far ahead.

Ive been on champix now for two weeks, one week the white tablet where you can smoke with and my first week with the blue pill smoke free,i will say make sure you have had a good meal before you take one as sickness kicks in,i have a meal and as soon as i have finished i take one and no sickness happens to me,the dreams are amazing and they feel so real,sometimes there alittle weird like alice in wonderland,good luck and stay strong

Thanks for your support On day 4 of the tablets tomorrow. Not had any side effects yet but did pop out for a quick break today at work and could only smoke half of my fag! Going onto 2 a-day tomorrow! Don't normally eat breakfast but being having a small bread roll then taking my tablet with water and then having a nice hot cup of coffee.

I must admit some of my fags don't seem very good lately

I started Champix on Friday so I am now on day 2 of taking the champix, so far only one cig today, it is 2.30 yay

Thanks Sian, congratulations you're doing well, hope I will do it too!! Day 6 today on the tablets. Smoking seems to be getting less pleasureable! The nicotine seems to be motivating me to smoke more than anything else! :mad:
